This is one of a series of small collages made by the artist. Certain colors from nature come to mind while creating each piece. The papers are all painted first, sometimes pencil is used or ink, and occasionally phrases from a favorite poem. Once the piece is fully assembled, the entire collage is fused together with a hot iron.

    I am a painter and collage artist. But not always! I have a degree in horticulture and worked for many years outside either gardening or designing gardens for others. Real and imaginary plants and landscape are my thing. I need to stay curious about the imagery and the materials - "the stuff" of creating a piece. My work employs multiple stylistic approaches for that reason- curiosity! Enjoy.
