About the work

Sumi ink on Chinese paper. As a student of the martial arts, this pose is an exercise in giving up ourselves. Usually to bow means to pay our respects to something which is more worthy of respect than ourselves. This is humbling and frees the mind to accept everything as it is. When you are just yourself, you bow to yourself and with that, you are one with everything.
