About the work
This abstract print was inspired by the dual symbolism inherent to trees: the roots below the earth, symbolizing the past and feelings of being grounded; and the branches reaching toward the sky, reminding us of the future and all its possibilities. Finding a perfect balance between these two feelings creates a sense of peace, something I hoped to inspire with this print.

My designs always begin with a hand-drawn sketch. My primary mediums include watercolor, gouache, pen and ink, and cut paper. I apply these to a variety of stationery, art, and surface design projects. While my style is always evolving, there are consistent threads throughout all of my work: vibrant color palettes and the interplay of negative space with expressive shapes.
