About the work

"Blue Moon" is one in a series of moon paintings on Yupo paper that began as a study of the phases and grew into a study of all the moons throughout the year and their names as declared by various traditions and peoples. My inspiration is always drawn from nature, and the past year has been a deep introspection into our relationship with the moon and her phases and cycles. We have much to learn from paying attention to this and learning to 'go with the flow' rather than against it. The pieces are a combination of acrylic paint, acrylic ink, and gouache, all done on Yupo paper. The Moon Series is available exclusively on Minted.com.
