This Illustration is part of a series inspired by my love of flowers. The New York state flower is the rose which is a symbol of love and beauty. The rose was designated the state flower of New York in 1955. There are over 150 species and 20,000 hybrids in existence and the beautiful rose is believed to be around 35 million years old!
