I love capturing surfers as they exit or enter the water. On this evening at La Jolla Shores Beach in San Diego, CA, I captured this surfer exiting the ocean against a bright sunset. I made the photograph black and white to give the shot a dramatic feeling.

Matt recently relocated to Illinois (his home state!) after a four-year stint in San Diego while attending UC-San Diego for his PhD studies. Matt loves exploring the outdoors and exploring cities through food and beverage. Matt fell in love with nature photography in San Diego, while capturing his adventures to local beaches and National Parks throughout CA.
