"I have always been obsessed with textiles, making quilts in high school and dyeing fabric in my kitchen. When I discovered weaving during my undergrad at RISD, I was hooked. I loved the structure that the loom provides while being able to play so much with the design and color."
Johil Ross worked in the bedding industry in NYC for 12 years and during that time dreamed about starting her own textile business. A couple years after college she got her hands on a small second hand loom and started weaving again. Then after doing some local craft fairs, she reached out to some textile mills that she worked with and got to work designing her own collection.
Now she weaves the designs in her studio in NY and then work closely with a Textile Company in India to get them woven.
Her mission is to bring elegant and modern design to homes through the art of decorative pillows. Every pillow is hand woven using 100% cotton. The cotton is extremely soft and the hand woven texture gives the pillows a unique look.
