I took the photograph of this California Poppy in the lane behind my home. They grow there in joyous abandon every summer. I admire their cheerful beauty. When out on my walks with my little dogs I often take photographs to use for inspiration in my paintings. Occasionally I am in the right place at the right time with just the right light for a really nice photo. In this image I feel like I captured some of the glow that makes these flowers so lovely.

    Vancouver, CA

I am a Canadian artist living in the Pacific Northwest. I love exploring, drawing, photographing and painting the rugged West Coast. Always having had an interest in visual expression and nature, both of which were encouraged by my father from a very young age, I think about or do something creative every day.
