Bring the outside in with this original photogram created by hand using a light and treated paper, matted, and framed with your choice of 12”x16” frame by Kamala Nahas. This series is part of her 2-Mile Project using materials foraged from walks taken within two miles of her home. Slight variation and imperfections in the piece is a hallmark of the handmade process.
- one of a kind original - certificate of authenticity - frame dimensions: 11”x14” - mat opening: 8.5”x11” - hanging hardware attached - wood frame with glass
The series was made by collecting bits of a pepper tree on her daily walks. Elements were arranged on photosensitive paper and exposed to sunlight resulting in a set of organic, textural pieces that reflect the optimism of spring and summer.
Kamala has always best understood the world through photography. It is a means for exploration with a freedom she does not experience any other way. She rarely approaches a scene with a plan, preferring to respond spontaneously to her senses. Her intention is less about documenting a place and more about conveying how the elements feel.
Kamala lives in coastal California with her husband, animals, and her almost grown children.
