About the work

I have always loved botanical prints of flora and love seeing gallery style displays of these beautiful sketches and paintings, whether they are smaller groupings or larger groupings there is something so lovely and pleasing about being surrounded by these botanical studies of nature. That was when I became intrigued with the idea of creating a fun, colorful, youthful interpretation of a botanical gallery with loose painterly sketches of flowers from the garden. My approach is more interpretive, a desire to capture the spirit of the color and sunlight in the garden on a beautiful day.
