About the work
I was motivated to Create this optimistic watercolor painting of Checkerboard cherries after conversations with my two teenage girls about the kinds of Artwork that they would want to have on their walls! Inspired by the Y2K aesthetic I decided to combine vibrant colors, simple Cherry shapes and a bold checked pattern to create these red and warm white cherries on a confident pink background.
