About the work
I painted this after a picnic with my family in Virginia. That day started out warm and lovely but you could tell the heat of the day would bring on afternoon storms. I am worked to capture the drama of the wind swept sky over rolling fields and lush trees in the distance. The brush strokes and drips are evidence of my process.
