About the work

"Snowy Den" was inspired by a visit to a wolf sanctuary north of Spokane, in Washington state. There were several breeding pairs of Arctic and Gray wolves, and I was thrilled to be able to spend time photographing them and enjoying their company. A little nervous, too, as I was in the enclosure with them! (along with their friend and "surrogate father" who raised them from cubs.) With some well chosen photos and a little imagination, I placed two wolves in their Arctic world (watercolor with digital enhancement). As always, I am thrilled to be sharing this art with you.
