About the work

The color palette was the driving force behind this piece. I really wanted something warm and soothing, but also energetic. This piece was meant to be a color study, but as I worked on it, it began to feel like something more. I loved discovering the use of brown as a visual anchor, and as a way to lessen the impact of the peach and pink. Overall this piece makes me feel like I'm sitting on the beach, feeling the warmth and energy of the sun.
