Part of INI CERAMIQUE’s new collection, the ‘Lune [M] N°1 - White’ ceramic vase is entirely handmade in our studio by our designer, Inhee Ma, following a craftsmanship process. The vase motifs are inspired by traditional Korean patterns from the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910). They were used in architecture, cultural assets, or daily props and aimed to express Buddhist thought. They contained awe for nature and a spiritual feeling, and were considered an instrument of happiness and blessings of good luck.
Once the vase has been shaped and sanded, each pattern is carved by hand through the dry clay before any residual dust is removed. It will be then be fired a first time at 990°C and a second time after applying glaze in its inside, up to 1250°C to ensure a more durable and resistant item.
DETAILS: - Stoneware fired at high temperature finished with transparent glossy glaze inside. - Raw carved exterior showcasing the natural aspect of the clay’s texture and geometrical motifs inspired by traditional Korean patterns. - Handmade in our studio in France. Slight variations in color, shape and size might occur.
