This graphic piece is inspired by the blocky shapes of construction vehicles and their flat, bright colors. I got the idea when I was going through old toys from my family's attic and saw one of my brother's old cement mixer truck toys, and my inspiration took off from there. It's intended to be part of a series of vehicle prints for children.

I'm a surface pattern and textile designer and I love to use nature themes in my designs. I love animals and gardening and taking walks in parks--a sketchbook is always at hand--so those themes appear frequently in my work. I'm thrilled that we have monarch butterflies in our backyard after we planted milkweed.
