About the work
The art of learning to ride the waves is no small task but as anyone who's done it will tell you, it is well worth the adventure. This young California surfer has decided to take on the challenge as he makes his way out into the waves while the setting sun illuminates the water in soft color. Manual in-camera motion techniques were used to intentionally create a slight blur of the waves, evoking a sense of the gentle energy and movement in the evening surf. I hope that this soft, dramatic coastal print inspires a continued spirit of adventure in anyone who's ever been drawn to the sea.
