About the work
This painting is made with gouache on paper. I'm using loose painting gestures to indicate flowers in a woodland garden. I don't want to describe, I want to create wonder. Snowdrops or Galanthus is one of the first bulbs to bloom in my garden. They are delicate and small, but their power for me is huge. They tell me winter is almost over.

I am a painter and collage artist. But not always! I have a degree in horticulture and worked for many years outside either gardening or designing gardens for others. Real and imaginary plants and landscape are my thing. I need to stay curious about the imagery and the materials - "the stuff" of creating a piece.
