About the work
This painting is based on a photo I took at one of my favorite flower shops in Brooklyn. I love the artichoke forms. They are not easy to grow in the northeast, so I loved seeing them used here as a cut flower- very creative idea. They remind me of thistle flowers but with much more muscle!
