About the work
I still feel privileged to have witness this moment between a mother and her colt. He was very curious—showed no fear coming right up to me. The momma very slowly and gently approached and positioned her body between me and him in a movement I recognized and understood immediately. Mothers have a singular ability be both sweet and fierce at precisely the same time.
