This is an original impressionist painting of the many coloured flowers in the summer garden of the courtyard of the Palais Royale in Paris. The details of the buildings can be glimpsed in the background. I have always loved this square in Paris from the first time I set foot in it over twenty years ago. It is a quiet respite from the bustle of the city, and the magical tangle of the garden is enchanting.
