I had always carried with me a mistrust for joy, but had reached a point in my healing process where I realized healing is as much about tending to my joy, play, and freedom, as it is about tending to my sadness and pain. A bold and expressive abstract painting balancing rusty Arizona red with aqua, blush, and golden yellow colors making for a commanding statement piece.

    byMarcy Parks

    Bristol, TN

My name is Marcy Parks and I am writer and artist creating bold and feminine expressive abstract paintings. My work is my way of processing my experience as a woman and mother. My paintings begin with me scribbling words on a canvas, uncertain of what will follow, but trusting in the impulse to create, and though I never know what they will look like, in the end I am always greeted by the abstract forms, lines, and marks that map the journey to my healing.
