About the work
This piece is derived from time spent on a family trip to Colorado when the end of Summer overlapped with the beginnings of Fall. I was moved by the awe-inspiring terrain and delineated waterways. In the original painting, Sandstone, I chose a warm sunlit kind of palette and worked with loose, quick brushstrokes for a semi-representational look with lots of texture, shapes and line. Available in 4 seasonal-like colors, each having its own breadth of mood and contemplation.

With a background in music (piano and composition) and art I'm often in my comfort zone creating. I have a continuous curiosity of things involving art and design, nature, music, architecture, and photography, and inspiration is never in short supply. With a great cup of coffee and most likely a tasty pastry too, I'm always up for a Minted Challenge. But just as easily is any happy chance to hang out with my wife and kids and our terrific dog and cats.
