About the work

Nature, memory, and place are themes in most of my work. This abstract mixed media work depicts the essence of a clearing in the forest at Emerson Bay State Recreation Area in Milford, Iowa as. I abstracted the photograph I took of the clearing down to the most minimal shapes and colors.
