About the work

Nature provides stunning colors and compositions, you just have to stop and look. I love painting with my camera and creating photographs that look like abstract paintings. In this collection I explore the minimalist nature of the desert by blurring landscapes and focusing on the forms created by nature against the sky. This particular photo taken in Death Valley, California, captures the mountain forms reflecting in the pools of water formed along the lowest point in North America, Badwater Basin.

I enjoy taking an up-close and personal approach to my photographs, focusing on the tiny details like textures and lines that make an object unique. I am drawn toward minimalist compositions so that the viewer can appreciate the textures, the color variations, and the subtlety of beauty.
