This S. Carolina church was built in the mid 1700's and it was burned during the Revolutionary War and again during the Civil War. As I walked around the ruins, I kept thinking about its history and also of the people who worshipped there. It was important to me to capture the walkway which portrays a cross through the interior of the ruins.

    about the artist

    byJan McElhinny

    Pittsburgh, USA

I am a photographer from a small town north of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania that loves being outdoors enjoying nature. This is where my creative inspiration comes from. My style is to see the big picture through landscapes and then break the scene down into smaller details in the macro world. I am always looking for beautiful light, shadows, textures and color to capture in my photographs. When I look through the lens, my goal is to not only photograph what I see, but also how it makes me feel.
