About the work
This photo was taken in Long Beach, California while standing beneath a small palm tree. I loved the way the sun was peeking through the long skinny leaves as they cast shadows upon themselves. I like the way the repetition of the leaves and shadows create new lines and shapes. It is a simple composition but bold and striking at the same time.
