Peonies are known as the flower of riches and romance. With their lush, luxuriant , lavish bloom, peonies have symbolized good fortune and a harmonious marriage. Like another watercolor paintings, I have focused on simplicity and the tension of spreading inky pigments on watery paper. On "Budding Peony",I took into consideration the balance between white space and subject, observing soft pale petals and a humble skinny stem.
