About the work
This painting is inspired by nature and the big lakes of North Idaho. The shifting light and atmosphere across such vast bodies of water and forest have a humbling effect upon me. As a painter I do not strive to recreate an image of what I see but rather capture a poetic representation of the presence I feel. I know I could devote the rest of my life to this country, I may just do that.
