About the work

This is a macro photograph of a purple Bachelor's Button flower that was taken in my garden. Due to the nature of macro photography, the focus is on the petals with a very shallow depth of field which creates an abstract image of color and texture. The shapes of the petals and surrounding colors of fuchsia and green remind me of fireworks on a summer night!
