UNIQUE INVITATION DESIGNS FROM INDEPENDENT ARTISTS
The baptism or christening of your child is a special milestone, and the invitation announcing this milestone should be just as special. At Minted, you are sure to find a truly unique invitation because all of our designs are created by independent artists from around the globe. Artists submit their designs to our ongoing design challenges, and their work is voted on by fellow artists in our community as well as Minted customers. Designs that resonate best among voters are hand-curated and sold on our site, where artists receive a commission payment with each sale. By choosing a Minted invitation you are supporting an independent artist and are sending a work of art in the form of mail to friends and family.
Our designs come in a variety of styles from formal and elegant to botanical and whimsical. Each invitation was thoughtfully created with care to commemorate the admission of your child into the religious community. Discover beautiful religious imagery on our cards ranging from simple crosses to peaceful doves and church steeples. Certain designs feature a customizable photo area if you would like to include a photo of your child on the invitation. This is an adorable way to customize your baptism or christening invitations, making them an instant keepsake for years to come. You can even dress your little one in their christening gown for the photo!
Whether you are celebrating the baptism or christening of your daughter or son (or even twins!), we have designs that are well-suited for every child. Use the “Gender” filter at the top of the page to filter designs quickly.
DESIGN IDEAS FOR BOYS
Easily browse through our assortment of boy-friendly baptism invitations. You will find designs featuring pale blue color palettes, formal crosses, and cute customizable photo areas. Friends and family will cherish this sweet invitation for the little man of the family. Don’t shy away from incorporating botanicals into your son’s baptism announcement. While foliage can sometimes feel feminine, a touch of greenery adds an elegant but neutral touch. Leaves adorning a cross or in the shape of a wreath around a photo or text can make for a stunning invite.
DESIGN IDEAS FOR GIRLS
If you want your baptism or christening invitation for your daughter to be as sweet as her, we have an adorable assortment of designs featuring soft pink and lavender color palettes, charming florals, colorful stained glass, and luxurious rose gold foil. Upload a photo of your baby girl on the front or back of the card for friends and family to swoon over as they mark their calendars for this momentous occasion.
NEUTRAL DESIGN IDEAS
Interested in a neutral baptism invitation? Maybe you are getting a head start on planning and your baby hasn’t arrived just yet! Or maybe you’d just prefer something neutral for this special event for your son or daughter. For an elegant touch that feels neither too masculine nor feminine, try a design with hand-pressed goil foil. Elements like the cross or flourished text like “baptism” really shine when adorned in foil. Neutral does not necessarily mean non-colorful either! Try a beautiful mint green or sunshine yellow palette for your gender-neutral baptism announcement.
DESIGN IDEAS FOR TWINS
Congratulations on the upcoming baptism of not one, but two little ones! Any of our adorable invitation designs can be customized for twins or multiples. Use our online customizer to change font sizes and treatments to best suit two names instead of one and upload a photo or photos of both children. If you have a boy and a girl, try browsing our gender neutral designs for options that will best suit both cuties.
WHAT DETAILS TO INCLUDE IN YOUR BAPTISM INVITATIONS
While your baptism or christening invitations should be cute, you could argue that it’s even more important that they are useful. We’ve got you covered to make sure your invite includes all necessary details that friends and family need to know about your baby’s upcoming religious event.
- Name: A lot of thought went into choosing your new arrival’s name. Be sure to include it on your invitation so loved ones know their name and who is being baptised. If you have chosen a nickname, you are welcome to include it here as well. You can also include the name(s) of the parent(s) and godparent(s).
- Date & Time: Clue guests in to know when to mark their calendars. Formal invitations should have the date and time written out long hand (ex. “Sunday, August fifteenth at ten o’clock in the morning”).
- Location: Details should include the name and address of the church. If it is a larger place of worship, it can be helpful to include more details on where to park and/or what entrance to use. You can feature these additional details on the back of the invitation to avoid crowding the front.
- What to wear: Your invitation will help set the tone for friends and family. Letting guests know what they should wear is the perfect way to communicate the formality of the ceremony and church it is being held in.
- Reception details: If you are holding a luncheon following the service, be sure to include those details on the invitation as well. If guests need to bring anything (i.e. a potluck dish to share or comfortable change of shoes) you can include that on the back of the card as well.
- How to RSVP: To keep track of who’s coming, be sure to provide clear instructions on how and when to RSVP. Email and/or phone details work well for this.
HOW TO PERSONALIZE
Once you’ve selected the perfect baptism invitation design, it’s time to customize it to make it your own. Minted has easy-to-use web tools allowing you to create the perfect card showcasing your personal details. Here are all of the things you can customize on your card.
- Card shape: All of our invitations are 5”x7” but can be trimmed to unique shapes featuring rounded edges, curved and beveled frames, or scalloped and waved edges.
- Choose a paper type: Reduce your carbon footprint by choosing recycled paper or give your invite a luxurious feel with pearlescent or double-thick paper.
- Add personal images of the baby: For a truly personal feel, upload a photo or photos of your little one directly to the invitation. If you found a design you love that does not have a photo area on the front, you can still upload a photo to the back of the card.
- Change the color palette: Every invitation has at least three color themes available. You can toggle between them and see how the card takes on a new look.
- Change the text: Type directly into our easy-to-use online text boxes to include all the important details.
- Add custom foil text: For an extra-special touch, add custom foil to any personalized text including the baby’s name. Foil colors available include gold, silver, rose gold, glittery gold and glittery silver.
- Customize the card backer: Include images of the baby, the family, the pets, or feature your favorite scripture passages. We have 9 templates that you can adjust.
- Pick a colorful envelope: Minted has an array of beautiful envelope colors to pair with your invitation. Antique Rose pairs nicely with invitations for baby girls, while Cloud Blue is a beautiful choice for boy invitations. Other color options include Grey Mist, Kraft, Spruce, Navy, Aubergine, Black, and Charcoal.

BAPTISM CARD ETIQUETTE
Who do you invite to a baptism? The most important guests (outside of the child and their parents) are the godparents. Other essential loved ones to invite are the baby’s grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Cousins may also be invited. If your church allows for a larger group, you may also include close friends and extended family, but this sacred event should remain intimate. Check with your church, as some may not allow guests outside of the congregation to attend the service. You are always welcome to expand the guest list for the after-ceremony celebration.
When do you send out invites? To give guests time to respond, invitations should go out about two months prior to the baptism.
