About the work

Fresh Pears is a minimalist still life painting in vibrant colors that imparts a summery feel to the work. From my studio in the Hawaiian islands I am influenced by the immediate world around me, and so much of my work has a distinct tropical feel even if the subject is not a traditionally “tropical” one. Other influences include my near-constant travels and my fascination with world culture. Typical motifs you will find in my artwork are plants, food, and architecture.
