About the work

'Still' is an abstract landscape painting on raw canvas, in shades of blue, green, and peach. This painting was the start of my exploration of painting on unprimed canvas. The paint takes on a watercolor-like quality, flowing and blending in unexpected ways. My goal with this series is to explore the line between abstract and landscape, that takes the viewer to somewhere in a dream or a memory. The paintings are named with conjunction words, to represent the conjunction of abstract and representational work.
