When I was a kid I wouldn’t even put my face in the water. It took an entire summer of swimming lessons and then some. I was afraid of…everything. Eventually I overcame my water phobia and began to crave it instead. This year I've come to learn more about my lifelong relationship with water. Melanie Biehle is an American artist who paints what places feel like. Her work is inspired by Louisiana landscapes, Pacific Northwest mountains and forests, the coast of California, New York City architecture, and Seattle skylines. Melanie studied abstract painting at Gage Academy of Art. She was born in rural Louisiana and spent most of her adult life on the West Coast.
