"Mourning Dove" was inspired by visits to a wild park in Spokane, WA, not far from my apartment. Though of smallish proportions, the landscape was left undisturbed except for walking trails. It was like a bit of wildness in the middle of suburbia. All manner of creatures could have called it home, and many did. Pheasants, rabbits, fox, song birds, and deer. Spring was welcomed with joy.
