This is a painting that began with a different motive, and ended up being finished just as it was beginning. This painting was one of the first larger paintings I've done. It's a reminder that life doesn't always have the same plan as we do. It started as an underpainting, but ended up remaining as-is because I loved the color palette and the composition. The minimalist style of this painting is a departure from my other work, but I treasure its teaching.
