I have always loved a pastoral landscape, and with this piece I wanted to keep it loose and a little unfinished. In my neighborhood there is a red barn in a field of longhorn cattle that I pass each day - this provided the inspiration for this oil painting. This piece is part of a set and may be paired with Summer Field 2.
