I've heard lack of sleep described as a feeling of being farther away from things than you actually are. I purposefully took this photograph out of focus to highlight the organic form and a feeling of being in between--not quite really here and not quite really there. As artists, we may get in a creative zone, lose track of time, and forgo sleep (and sometimes food) for longer than we should. The day after this intense creative focus feels much like this photograph to me--like a hangover, without the headache.
