About the work

This piece is inspired by various dome shaped dwellings used by cultures across the globe. The very symmetrical arrangement of the motifs is calming while the bold geometric shapes and vibrant colors add personality. When creating work I often think of the spaces my work might live in.     Christine Llewellyn is a New York City based surface pattern and product designer. Christine's designs are characterized by their playful yet elegant hand drawn motifs and modern, minimalist pattern composition. Christine received her MBA from the University of Michigan and worked in marketing before leaving to follow her passion for all things design. She completed her Master of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute and launched Christine Joy Design shortly after.
