I painted this in my intuitive abstract style alongside Wellesley Ave. Both pieces were an attempt to capture a moment in childhood when I felt the most carefree. I grew up in Charlotte, NC, also known as the Queen City because it was named in honor of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, and this work reflects that blend of history and personal nostalgia.
