This abstract gouache and watercolor landscape format painting was inspired by a trip with my family to the stunning Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction, Colorado. It's one of my favorite national parks. The painting features desert high land inspired colors like sandstone and juniper, as well as organic and geometric shapes found in traditional American West motifs.
