A black and white photo of snow-dusted mountains cloaked by a layer of clouds in Yosemite Valley. I took this photograph during my first trip to Yosemite National Park. One morning, we woke to freshly fallen snow and clouds drifting along the mountaintops. Sunlight was just beginning to filter into the valley, setting the whole scene aglow. Realizing how fleeting this moment was, I grabbed my camera and took this photograph. With this image, I hoped to explore the juxtaposition of the permanent and ephemeral elements of the landscape - the enduring presence of the mountains contrasted against the ever-changing appearance of light, clouds and snow.
