These butterflies were inspired by my grandmother, who loved them and kindled my love of these colorful, elegant creatures. I adore the detail and color in their wings and how each butterfly is so unique. Instead of pinning specimens as may have been done in generations past, I've captured them in paint so their real-life counterparts can fly free, but I've maintained the realistic feel and layout of those displays of yore.
