I took this photo early in the morning on a summer day at a popular Southern California surfing beach. It was overcast and the fog hadn't burned off yet. This moment took me back to my childhood where I grew up in a quiet California beach community—the smell of the sea and the salt spray coming off the surf. Being a graphic designer I knew I wanted to add bold typography to this image that spoke to beach culture.
