This Illustration is part of a series of state floral bouquets inspired by my love of flowers. The Black Eyed Susan also known as the Rudbeckia hirta has been the official state flower of Maryland since 1918. A pretty yellow flower with a dark centre that blooms between May and August and can be found in fields and along roadsides.
