About the work
This illustration is part of a series of state flower bouquets inspired by my love of flowers. The Pink and White Lady slipper was designated as the official state flower of Minnesota in 1967. The beautiful Lady Slipper can live up to 50 years but may take up to 16 years to produce their first flower. It is a rare, state protected flower and it is illegal to pick them.
