'City Squares' 1 and 2 are a pair of photographs captured on the rooftop of a parking structure in Old Town Pasadena, CA. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. These two structures caught my attention due to their juxtaposed architectural elements. The red brick wall and the oxidized steel provides the image with a warm and textural industrial element, whereas the simple geometric lines of the white structure presents a cool and minimalist element. The late afternoon sunshine enhanced the beauty of the buildings by giving them the muted pastel color palette I am so very fond of. City grit at it’s best!

Hi I’m Lisa Sundin, a self-taught Swedish photographer living in LA. I’m inherently drawn to simplicity and minimalism, and my work often has neutral or pastel hues with strong leading lines. I believe that it’s often the simplest of objects and compositions that can have the largest impact on us, leaving room for interpretation and for us to create our own story. I very much appreciate you taking the time to view my work and I always love to hear from you: lisasundin@mac.com
