There is something about grasses swaying in the breeze that conjures up feelings up freedom and adventure. Waking early to take pictures is one of my favorite things to do. This photograph was taken before the morning dew had dried—the seed heads sparkling in the golden light.

A Nebraska native, Karen Kaul spent her childhood summers in the Colorado mountains and desert Southwest, forming a deep love of minimalist landscapes. With a B.A. in Studio Art, Karen lives and works near Minneapolis as a graphic designer and artist.
