I almost took a knife to this painting so I put it aside and came back to it after a month. Then something magical happened and I fell in love with it. It took many passes but the movement and swirls of pearl, silver, creams, whites and grey finally came together. The layers move across the canvas in a hypnotic dance to calm the soul.

As an artist, painting can be tormenting and sublime at the same time. I'm a big risk taker, experimenting with different materials to layer, stain, scrap and saturate color on large canvases. My most successful work is complex yet minimal. Some of my work achieves a sense of fluid movement with saturated color, while my newer collection is so textured it is like frosting.
