We are connected to water. Our bodies are made up of 50%+ water. Oceans, rivers, and lakes strike that perfect feeling balance between the expected and the unexpected...constantly changing while also staying the same. My paintings are inspired by the often opposing energy of the city and the sea. These relaxing watercolor waves exude modern relaxation.

Her work is inspired by Louisiana landscapes, Pacific Northwest mountains and forests, the coast of California, New York City architecture, and Seattle skylines. Melanie studied abstract painting at Gage Academy of Art. She was born in rural Louisiana and spent most of her adult life on the West Coast. No matter where her journeys take her, Louisiana, the Pacific Northwest, and Southern California will always live inside her.
